JCCC’s Global Engagement Office helps make international education accessible to every student, offering opportunities to explore the world through global‑focused programs, partnerships, and on‑campus experiences. Through the Study Away program, students can take their learning beyond JCCC—whether studying abroad or exploring another part of the U.S.—with vetted, safe, and well‑supported options that range from short‑term faculty‑led trips to semester‑ and year‑long programs. These experiences help students broaden their worldview, connect with new cultures, and integrate global learning into their academic and personal growth.

Student Wellness

JCCC offers free fitness classes, wellness activities, and access to the Barbara Gill Lifetime Fitness Center for all enrolled students. Students can also use the CavFit Lab for fitness assessments and explore virtual wellness resources to support healthy habits and overall well‑being. JCCC’s Center for Sustainability leads campuswide efforts to integrate sustainable practices into academics, operations, and student life, earning national recognition—including being named the #1 community college in the country for sustainability by the AASHE STARS program in July 2025. The college is deeply committed to environmental responsibility, with 97% of its electricity coming from renewable sources and a 75% reduction in its carbon footprint since 2009, alongside opportunities for students to get involved through programs like the Sustainability Distinction, which can be added to any degree path. Students can explore initiatives, campus projects, and ways to participate by visiting the Center for Sustainability’s webpage to learn how JCCC is building a greener future.
